Taking It Easy

Went thrifting but only found 2 things..this amazing hippie headscarf..and..

Oh this guy was on the floor at the thriftshop..it was strange to find it lying around, and then I saw someone pick it up and place it somewhere else..haha a found art object!
1970s wooden candle holder, the label says Western Australia on it..i love finding stuff from Australia a lot!! It was a bit pricey but well worth it.
Painted on the 2 rocks I found during the dance competition a month ago..Zen and a swirl design.
A box I've decided to paint..this is the bottom, I did a psychedelic look but its taking days to dry!! I will be painting the rest of the box, haven't decided how yet.  No, this green concoction is not paint, its actually one of the worst sherberts I've ever tasted!! It's supposed to be lavender blueberry lime but in this case, the lime won out in waves!! UGH!!!!

Yesterday went on a trip to a candy shop..and got German sour drops..not liking them, way too sour for me! I've already eaten the white chocolate milky bar..yum!! and the cotton candy pink jelly belly lolly, that was good too, the tiny retro chiclets are okay..they are actually strong mint taste, my fav. of the bunch is raspberry millions chewy candy dots..those are soo freakin' good!!! 

Peace Frog

Stuff I got at a Moroccan shop, and an Indian shop a few days ago..Moroccan tea light holder, cute Marrakech magnet, unique handcrafted vintage mirrored fan from Pakistan, elephant pillow cover from India, wood carved elephant (I love the cute face!!), Hamsa necklace, suede coin purse..pics of beautiful Marley, and the chicken strawberry salad with homemade yogurt dressing I made yesterday for dinner..yum!! Finished painting some more art projects and been watching the Copa America, and the Gold Cup over at my boyfriend's place..yess, I still love soccer a lot!!

Pani Puri and More Indian Heaven..

We ate at an Indian place and the food was amazing!!! I can't remember all the Indian names..fried lentil balls, Pani Puri, potato cutlets in yogurt/chutney sauce, butter chicken, garlic naan bread (sooo delicious!!), and the best dessert ever..fried cottage cheese balls in sweet syrup! I have a bad stomach when it comes to spicy stuff but I never have a problem when it comes to Indian foods..very weird but i'm happy coz I do love spicey stuff a lot!

Turtle Pond

It's so hard to get great summer weather, so when it comes along, its time to explore in nature!! Made friends with a sweet turtle..she or he let me pet its head and I helped it crawl under the fencing so that the turtle would be safer there..this tribal hut is my new home! Discovered a giant sized sumac plant or whatever it was? Lots of irises blooming everywhere and I wish I could have a perfume with their scent! Doing kundalini on the bridge..cute frog in the swamp area..these amazing lilypads are almost as big as the ones in the Amazon rainforest! And I made Flash in the Pan mint chicken with honey and I did serve it with couscous. Yum!

DIY Project + Hula Hooping Fun!

It's been okay weather..went hulahooping at a friend's place..i still can't hulahoop..I think you need a long waistline to do it properly!! My body is all wrong for it.:( Then I did a DIY project with a wooden storage box that I got thrifting a while ago..i waited for the right summer weather to do it outside..i think it turned out way groovy! I used Artist Loft acrylic paints (these are the best to use on wood), and then I sparkled it all over..including the sides, and in the back I drew mandala design with black marker, the actual box drawers (3 in total), was very difficult to paint..i had to go over at least 5 times with different colours until it worked! The material on the front of the drawers was a weird type of plastic and it was black making it really hard to go over! But it finally worked, not too sure if I like it or not..i did a mushroom, then moon with stars, then a sun.  I'm liking the sun part a lot! I did go over with a gloss varnish finish.  I discovered my love for Quinoa lately..made a lemon and chives quinoa with red bell peppers and tomatoes..yum!! You can eat this hot or cold.  This quinoa craze started when I ate a power salad bowl at a cafe which had avocados, chick peas, cucumbers, wild Cali mix salad, couscous and of course quinoa..the only thing I didn't like was that there was way too much almonds in it..i'm not a fan of almonds, I love cashews!
