Modern Psychedelic Bands

Kula Shaker have been one of my most fav. bands for a long while!! They are from London, singer is dreamy Crispian Mills, and their music is heavily influenced by East Indian sounds. On the track Sound of Drums, you can hear The Doors style keyboard which reminds me of Light My Fire. Next up is Mystic Braves are an amazing American band from LA, and they are influenced by 60s psychedelic bands like The Seeds.  Temples are groovy psychedelic band from the UK.  Love their haunting vocals, and their videos are groovy!! Levitation Room, 60s rock with a hint of psychedelica, again from the LA area, super groovy beats!!Of course..The Babe Rainbow..love these guys loads!! They even have their own hippie bus..WOOT!WOOT! This video was taken from a 1971 documentary..Far-Out!! And last but not least, OMG!!! Where did this amazing groovy guy come from??? Lewis Floyd Henry..He reincarnated Hendrix!! Wow!!

Psychedelic Art

Recent artwork created in the humid hot sunshine..mushrooms, a hippie sign inspired by the film Psych-Out, and psyschedelic swirls.  Not been doing much lately except reorganizing the basement, getting rid of stuff, because its so much cooler downstairs when its like 41 humidity!!

A Visit From Bambi

A few days ago we were visited by a beautiful deer..Bambi seemed to love our place and was looking at the side of our house. It was straight out of a fairy tale!!

Water Colors

Doing yoga in the park has given me a sense of joy! The way the sunlight shines through the trees, the vibrant purple flowers, and many groovy shades of green reminded me of Janis Ian's song Water Colors.

Feelin' Funky!!

Took my polyester pants out for a ride today..i saw unicorns in clouds, turkey vultures in trees, sparkly crystal sun rays, red roses, and motorcycle gangs.

Closet Purge

Yesterday there were twister like storms so I decided to colour-coordinate everything in my closets. They turned out pretty groovy and I noticed how much blue stuff I own..i guess blue is my fav. colour. All shades of blue!

Ice Cream With Just 3 Ingredients

Thanks to Priyanka and her super easy recipe, I've been enjoying this ice cream so much!!! It takes like Italian gelato!! All you need is 1 carton fresh cream (250 ml), 1 can condensed milk, and cocoa powder..you whisk the cream until firm and add in the condensed milk and stir, then add 3 tbs of cocoa or depending on your taste, if you want it less sweet, add more cocoa powder, then stir, and put ice cream into a square glass container and cover top with saran wrap and place in freezer for several hours and when you take it out, voila! ice cream!! and its delicious!! Vinyl Inspired Lookbook

I took two of my fav. vinyl and tried to match my outfit to them as much as possible..first look is inspired by Iron Butterfly's Innagodadavida album..i think this I pretty much matched real close with a hippie dress I thrifted a while back, pairing it with my two toned vintage heart shaped sunnies..the next look inspired by Good Vibrations, 1970s album of compilations with instrumentals and silly vocals..its quite hilarious actually! Anyways, I found a pair of striped shorts I got from Forever21..gawd, remember that store? And my Yosemite Park vintage tee.  Not really a good match, but I tried.

Bohemian Haul

Some more groovy stuff I recently ordered..giant mandala print beach blanket, 3 belts (soft faux leather with faux diamantes, 2 flower and 1 butterfly..the rose one is my fav.) I especially love the balls at the end of the belts making them super-groovy, and I heart these 1970s flower power daisy earrings in champagne colour, I love them so much I ordered another pair in silver.  These all came from Canasia.com.
